Seek His approval

Comparison · Galatians 1:10; 2 Corinthians 5:9; read Galatians 1:6–10 and 2 Corinthians 5:6–10 for context

Adapted from Day 23 of A Merry Heart, A Happy Home by Serena Mojela. Teaching and prompts are condensed for this website.

Read and reflect

Read the Scripture passages listed above in your Bible, including the surrounding verses for context. Then take a moment with these thoughts.

Day 23 asks whose approval has become the measure of our faithfulness. Feeling unseen can be discouraging, and needing appreciation is human. Serena invites us to express that need honestly while returning our deepest aim to pleasing God. Another person’s applause cannot be the only measure of a faithful choice.

A question to sit with

Whose approval have you been chasing? What happens to your mood when no one notices your effort? What choice could you bring before God with a clear heart?

A step for today

Do one unseen act of kindness. Afterwards, tell God honestly how it felt to go unrecognised and reflect on what motivated your choice.

Take this with you

Being unseen by people does not mean being unseen by God.

From the devotional’s “Take this with you” section. This is Serena’s reflection, not a Bible quotation.

Keep growing with care

These reflections offer spiritual encouragement. They do not replace individualized medical, mental health, legal, or pastoral care. Wise boundaries and appropriate support matter.
